How does one figure out what scents go with each other? I have an assortment of essential oils, except I used all the rosemary and half the lavender and eucalyptus, and I'm thinking about combining a couple of them in my next batch of soap, only I don't know which and I don't want to waste what I've got.

ETA: mods, tags plz?

I was looking into fragrances a little while back and the advice I got was to combine fragrances/oils from the same group, i.e. When selecting which essential oils to use, it is a good idea to stick to a `scent family`, that is, combining scents that are similar, such as having a citrus, floral or spicy theme. (That link is for perfume more than for soaps but I was told the same principle applies.)

So maybe try the orange and lemongrass? Or do a search and see what existing soap combinations you can find for each oil.

Oooh, I wouldn't have thought of lemongrass with the orange! (Apparently orange is also really good with Patchouli, which I am anxious to try!)
